This project develops a pioneering approach for managing coral reefs under the impact of climate change, with a focus on the Florida Keys National Marine Sanctuary. By utilizing detailed outputs from the CESM2 large ensemble climate model, the research crafts site-specific climate projections that inform ecosystem response models to predict coral bleaching and other impacts. These scientific forecasts are then translated into narrative scenarios through social science methods, engaging environmental managers collaboratively and collaboratively. This approach empowers decision-makers with tailored, actionable data, fostering adaptive governance and innovative policy responses to protect one of the most biodiverse and economically significant marine ecosystems under threat from climate change.
